CHRIS'S OCTOBER 2006 POLAR BEAR HUNT

POLAR BEAR HUNT PHOTO GALLERY

In October 2006 Chris had a dream come true.  He received a phone call for a cancellation polar bear hunt.  Even though the timing for the hunt wasn't perfect, Chris could not turn down this rare hunting opportunity.  Without much knowledge on the hunting area and what to expect, Chris and his friend Pat flew to a remote place in North Eastern Canada called Coral Harbor.  The weather was still mild with minimal snow, so they used quads to get the hunting location.  The first day consisted of a 100 mile quad ride across the tundra.  They made camp the 1st night in a wall tent.  Pat shot a nice polar bear on the 2nd day of their hunt.  Chris shot his beautiful 8.5' boar Polar Bear on day 6.  Chris and Pat each shot a caribou as well.  To truly experience the Northern Hunting Adventure Chris ate raw caribou stomach and raw caribou liver just as the Eskimos were eating.  He said the liver wasn't so bad.  All in all it was a pretty good hunt and a great way to experience a different culture and tour a part of Canada that most people don't get to see.
